NCS have been simplifying IT for businesses since 1994, from our base in the Rossendale Valley. We have customers all over the UK and abroad, and we work across a wide range of sizes, from 3 users to 1,500. We design, install and maintain a wide range of networks.

The team is constantly busy on new projects: installing physical servers, building large networks on the Cloudflare architecture, creating fully automated platforms in Microsoft 365, and working alongside the new and expanding world of AI using the Anthropic platform.

Security runs through everything we do. We've held ISO 27001 since 2006 and maintain Cyber Essentials Plus, and we help our customers achieve the same.

The kind of work you'll lead

  • Microsoft 365 builds and migrationsNew tenants, email and SharePoint moves, Intune device rollouts and automated onboarding.
  • Cloudflare Zero Trust networksConnectors, device profiles, routing, DNS and outbound tunnels replacing traditional VPNs.
  • Servers and virtualisationPhysical Hyper-V hosts, hyperconverged clusters, hosted and Azure VMs, and co-located kit in the data centre.
  • Security and complianceHuntress MDR, ITDR and SIEM, endpoint protection, DMARC, and getting customers through CE, CE+ and ISO 27001.
  • Backup and disaster recoveryAcronis for servers, email and workstations, with recovery plans that are actually tested.
  • Perimeter, voice and AIFirewalls, email gateways, phone systems, and new automation built on the Anthropic platform.

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a project engineer in an MSP. You've scoped, planned, delivered and handed over projects for multiple customers, often at the same time.
  • You live in the UK, within about an hour of Rawtenstall. Our office and many customer sites are in the North West, so you'll need to get there comfortably.That takes in places like Manchester, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Burnley, Blackburn, Preston, Wigan, Halifax and Huddersfield.
  • Hands-on time with some or all of our stack. Microsoft 365 and Intune, Cloudflare, Huntress, Acronis, Hyper-V and firewalls count for the most.
  • Clear communication. You can explain a change to a customer's MD as well as to their IT lead, and you write documentation others can follow.
  • The right to work in the UK.

Good to have

  • Microsoft certifications, or working towards them
  • PowerShell or other scripting for automation
  • Experience with multi-tenant management through Lighthouse
  • An interest in using AI tools to make engineering work faster and more reliable
  • A full UK driving licence
